What makes us human?
In an age defined by the ever-presence of technology, we are amplifying both the best and worst of our humanity.
The attention economy, on-demand everything, AI, metrics, data and optimization can and do work. But they also strip away the intangibles: the things that don't make sense, at least not in the short term.
Over the longer term, the absence of those hard-to-measure intangibles becomes obvious. We may learn to name them, or they may remain unknowable. Either way, our humanness feels faded. Conversation turns hollow, connection weakens, life goes numb, health declines, and joy leaves.
There is no going back. The first step is growing wiser about how we use technology, rather than being used by it. The second is reclaiming the intangibles and the mystery, not just by asking questions and reflecting, but by going out, doing and living:
What has made us human.
Explore Human wilderness experiences on the BC coast for individuals, couples, and teams.
Days are spent paddling, exploring and working together in remote country.
Evenings are spent at a boat-access location with private cabins, shared meals and space to properly recover.
Wild days. Comfortable nights.
You don't need to be a hardcore outdoorsperson to join us. There are no tents on wet ground. Our location gives us real cabins, real beds and good food, so every day ends with rest and every morning starts fresh.
The challenge is in the experience, not the endurance. You'll stretch what you think you are capable of, and you'll be well looked after while you do it.
